"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still." Dorothea Lange
My roots are in Bossier City, Louisiana. I am a daughter, a wife, and a friend. I love to grow beautiful flowers, cook meals fit for a football team, and host parties. I'm in my element when I'm in the pool, and as you can tell, I love flamingos!
My fascination with photography began as a young child. My grandmother had a large coat box filled with pictures under the bed in the guest room where I would sleep. I would spend hours thumbing through these photos. I remember very well wondering who these people were, what their story was, and where they had gone. I loved studying the clothes, the homes, the cars.... all things I didn't see in everyday life. It was like a family history lesson where the photos were the professor. I was hooked!
Fast-forward 35 years and I began creating my own box of memories. I started photographing friends' children and family events, and the word got out. That's when I began a small side gig in photography for the public. Seven years later, I decided to leave the corporate world of foodservice sales, and here I am. Photography has been fun... perpetually challenging and rewarding. I love staring at an image knowing that someday it will be in a grandmother's box, just waiting for a young child to pick it up and try to figure out the story behind it.
I consider my photography to be very classic. I enjoy creating portraits that can withstand the test of time, and I always strive to create an image that represents the true spirit of my subject. Whether she is soft-spoken and gentle, or free-spirited with the soul of a dancer, I want people to see that in her portrait.
Thanks for stopping in, and I hope we can work together soon!
